The Managing Authority of Kolarctic CBC and Murmansk Avtodor have today signed a Grant Contract about the project LOTTA. (The full name of it is General Furnishing and Surface Infrastructure Development of the Kola – Verhnetulomsky – BCP Lotta Road).
The project will improve the safety and conveniency of the road between Raja-Jooseppi / Lotta border crossing point and Verhnetulomskiy. Road side railings will be built and the furnishing will be improved, the most worn-out sections of the road will be renovated. The road is one central connection between North-West Russia and Northern Finland, and thus also Northern Sweden.
The support from Kolarctic CBC programme to the project consists of 3,7 Million € Russian state financing and 100.000 € EU-funding. The total costs of the project are 4,5 Million €.
Development Director Ms Päivi Ekdahl from the Managing Authority of Kolarctic CBC in the Regional Council of Lapland, and Manager of Murmansk Avtodor Mr Victor Kozlov, signed the Grant Contract. Governor of the Murmansk region Ms Marina Kovtun attended the event.
First LIP is signed on 1st November
